There's a cancer benefit show coming up March 15th, 2009 @ The D Club in Azusa, California.Calabrese is not playing but we donated a signed drum skin and a signed t-shirt for the raffle. If you live in CA you should check it out and support the cause.
It's an all day, all ages event. 13 bands for $10 to benefit the Mariposas Foundation.
Mariposas Foundation:
We're a nonprofit organization that was formed by both doctors and parents in 1981. Together, with the help of many volunteers, they have left a legacy of over 25 years in serving the community.
The Mariposas Foundation focuses mainly on children with Leukemia and other blood related disorders. The foundation works together with the parents, patients, nurses and doctors to create a "normal" kid environment. This is
done by hosting an annual Summer Picnic and Christmas Party and other events. During these events, the patients
can run around and play like normal kids.
These events also help parents bond with others whom
have undergone similar experiences. Parents talk to
parents and patients whom have overcome this enormous obstacle, while enjoying free food and entertainment donated by local businesses and private donations
